Safety is given the highest priority in every course that we run. We have an exemplary safety record and we intend to keep it that way.
We are licensed to provide adventurous outdoor activities by the Adventure Activities Licensing Authority (AALA) under the following headings: Kayaking (including sea journeys), Rock Climbing, Abseiling, Gorge scrambling, Hill Walking and Mountaineering, Off-Road cycling, Improvised Rafting, Paddle Surfing and Caving.
In addition, our safety procedures match or exceed those laid down by the National Governing Body (NGB) for each discipline.
We also provide other activities that either have no NGB or are not covered by AALA. These are also run to the same high standard: with the appropriate in-house training and competence requirements.
All specialist equipment used is of the highest standard and is very well maintained and monitored. We also have very robust operating procedures to ensure that all of the above always takes place.
We are aware of the increasing pressures of organising residential trips and are keen to try to take some of the burden and worry out of this process. The following links will provide much of the information that you will need. However, group leaders are always welcome to come and visit Peat Rigg to look at our facilities and discuss their requirements.
